This page explains what happens to information when you visit honkytonktown.com. The short version: we do not ask you for personal information, and we do not sell anything about you to anyone.

Nothing. This site has no account system, no newsletter signup and no comment section. You can read every page without giving us anything.

What our host records

Like any website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs. These typically include the IP address of the visitor, the browser and device type, the pages requested and the time of the request. This is used to keep the site running and secure, not to identify individuals.

Content embedded from other services

Some pages include players and content served directly by third parties:

• Spotify – playlist players on the home page and the Playlists page.
• YouTube – video content in the Watch section.
• SociableKIT – the Instagram feed shown on the home page.
• Google Fonts and Font Awesome – typefaces and icons.

When those elements load, your browser contacts those companies directly and they may set cookies or record the visit under their own privacy policies, which we do not control. If this concerns you, browser settings and extensions that block third-party cookies will stop most of it, and the rest of the site still works.

If you contact us

Music and playlist submissions go through a Google Form, so anything you enter there is handled by Google under its privacy policy and reaches us by email. If you write to music@honkytonktown.com, we keep the message so we can reply and refer back to it. We do not add these addresses to any mailing list.

Links to other sites

We link out to Spotify, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, X and other places. Once you follow a link, you are on their site and under their rules, not ours.

If you want to know what we hold about you, or want it deleted, email music@honkytonktown.com and we will handle it. In practice this is usually just an email thread.
